Tik Tik Tik

INDIAS INDIOS is the name Benjamin Altermatt gave to a collection of drawings and found images – an archive mostly related to landscapes and their people, as well as abstract forms, vertical miasma and such. During the years the archive has expanded itself to sound collections, as well as to music collaborations with friends.

FYOELK lives in a djungle with waterfalls in rewind. (stenze quo musik)

∆D∆E∆W∆ is the duo of Menuzúm and Peter Quistgard playing improvised slow noise. Drones and sloppy drunken stripped down beats created by home-made oscillators, noisemakers, bass guitar, samplers and microphones. Besides music, ∆D∆E∆W∆ includes visual structures in their performances by the use of lights, smoke, stroboscopes and an inflatable plastic dome in which they play.

Peruvian no-musician Chrs Calarreta very active in the South American experimental scene since 1995.....founder of the independent label Aloardi and of bands like DiosMeHaViolado, Evamuss (soloist), Tica (with Fabiola Vasquez), Ninguna Ninfula (with Sabrina Melenotte),Miasma (with Sergio Sanchez), 50 Otages and others....today he lives in The Hague

TEN RAGAS TO A DISCO BEAT

MKM! - ENTHIC SOUNDS AND PSYCHEDELIC MUSIC -

Al Doum & The Faryds (italy)
This far-out Italian ensemble blend subtle guitar heroics, african rythms, jazz and Arabian psyhce. Their closest peers would be Embryo for their global yet psychedelic world view or perhaps Sunburned Hand of the Man when they got lost in the groove. Combining wild persussion, organ hum, eastren wind instruments with an electric guitar playing gentle cosmic solos they create some magic mayhem.

Roro and Avrind Ganga (drums/guitar duo Amsterdam/Den haag)
ocean size guitar sounds from every bolt rumbling's arvind ganga accompanied by the ever unpredictable spacial sonic explorer roro.

plus some other musical wonders....

By TROLLY BUS
yedo gibson/sax, renato ferreira/dbl bass, Nora Mulder piano

Trolleybus is:
A trio of free improvised music, that takes many roads in the musical way.

Trolleybus is:
Music that has infinite roads of possibilities, sometimes with busy traffic, sometimes with long straight highways. As drivers of the trolleybus the three of us all have a steering wheel, taking dangerous paths, driving in the contrary direction, putting in risk lives of pedestrians and listeners.
The music we play is produced on the spot, through collective musical discussion. It is a naked composition process, played live.

S-O-T-U Presents :

Wevie Stonder

IN OK/OUT KO!

"Deeply spiritual Afro psychedelic music" from The Pyramids!

Idris Ackamoor - alto saxophone and percussion; Kenneth Nash - drum set, vocals and percussion; Kimathi Asante - electric bass and percussion; Kash Killion - acoustic bass, Sarangi and percussion; Bradie Speller - congas and percussion

A short overview of THE PYRAMIDS
The Pyramids met as students at Ohio's legendary Antioch College where famous composer and jazz pianist Cecil Taylor was teaching as a visiting professor from 1971 - 73. Antioch was known for its liberal spirit and its source for activism and progressive political thought speaking of student protests, the New Left, the anti Vietnam War and Black Power movement.
Spending their senior year abroad (72-73) the young group composed of founding members, Idris Ackamoor,
Margaux Simmons, and Kimathi Asante soon embarked on an amazing cultural odyssey – a journey leading them
first to Paris, then Amsterdam, and on to Africa. They lived for nine months in Ethiopia, Kenya and Ghana, where they performed with the King’s Drummers of Tamale. They listened to music, played with local master musicians, and studied African culture. The Pyramids were one of the first African American creative music ensembles to explore the music of their ancestors in Africa, long before “world music” as a term came into fashion.

The three albums of the ‘70s
The Pyramids were part of a first wave of musicians that began to independently record, produce & release their albums. They released three records before disbanding in 1977: Lalibela (1973), King Of Kings (1974) followed by the seminal Birth/Speed/Merging LP (1976) which was recorded after the band had moved from Ohio to psychedelic San Francisco.

Disko B prepares the re-release of these three rare Pyramids’ recordings from the 70s on a triple CD box and a
limited vinyl edition.

Art as social activism
THE PYRAMIDS’ vision is also influenced by the term “art as social activism”. It was Idris Ackamoor who
accompanied his long term theatrical partner, Rhodessa Jones, who - for the first time in South African history –
conducted residency activities collaborating with Johannesburg Correctional Services and Urban Voices Festival.
The residency culminated in a full length theatre production with female inmates inside Naturena Correctional
Centre better known as “Sun City” prison.

DAGORA & FRIENDS
Stephen Doyle - Drums, Percussion, Rogier Smal - Drums, Percussion, Luc van Weelden - Synth, Electronix, Ti Femme - Vocals, Yedo Gibson - Saxophone, Mikael Szafirowski - Guitar
