MQ+SUBBA present *ZON* BLUE CRIME RELEASE
SUNday June 7th we will gather in what might be the darkest place of Amsterdam to celebrate the birth of a star. Did you know sun is a star?
BLUE CRIME will come home from a journey trough Germany, Poland, Czech Republic Austria and Belgium to celebrate their new record and play the light into the darkness.
MQ would be lonely without FRIENDS so Subbacultcha! will be our partner in crime and we are very happy to announce that Slumberland will be gracing us with his presence. Not to mention the fantastic DOOMSQUAD who crossed the ocean.
So LET”S TAKE BACK THE SUN!
aka Jochem Baelus. This Belgian cowboy produces kitchen psychedelics with a large range of self made instruments and his low very low voice. Dark and daring, repetitive and intriguing.
At the end of spring 2013 it was time to start recording his own debut album.
Surrounded by trash and some microphones, he was hidden for three weeks long in an empty old brewery.
is a Toronto-based art project made up of siblings Trevor, Jaclyn, and Allie Blumas.
The trio create experimental dance music that’s heavily indebted to trance and psychedelia. From far-reaching global beats to the sounds of their local community, it’s all thoughtfully curated and channeled into a project of immersion and unity. The result is a mesmerizing sonic landscape of dynamic repetition. DOOMSQUAD constructs a contemplative space for deep listening, within the music and within yourself.
‘Can I get it back, soft intruder, call of the wild…’
BLUE CRIME was born in an Amsterdam bunker. An experimental four-piece. A trip from the disarming to the wrenching. Did the wolf devour the moon? Stories unabridged.
This is the first BLUE CRIME record ever and the Meduse MagiQ label will put it out on white vinyl. It is also the celebration of a new vinyl label in town!
