The Howl Ensemble creeert een mix van noise/post-rock, met sterke invloeden uit de math rock die met name terug te vinden zijn in het gebruik van vreemde maatsoorten en acrobatische partijen.
De heren schrijven dynamische muziek, die zowel gelaagde, wat subtielere passages als dissonante explosies met een hoog volume bevat; afhankelijk van wat de compositie vereist.
Dit jaar komt er een nieuwe plaat van ze uit!!!
Droppings Droppings: structuur, chaos, wanhoop, plezier, ironisch, iconisch, vernietig, herbouw, confronteer.
Dissonante en intense structuren die klinken als een manke ezel met een kraai op zijn rug happend naar een bungelende wortel.
Inspiratiebronnen zijn naast de absurdheid van het bestaan, bands als Doomsday Student, Sonic Youth, Barbra Streisand, Deerhoof, Captain Beefheart en nog veel meer. Avontuurlijke rauwe muziek, herhalingen en plotse wendingen.
Worlds Dirtiest Sport (us) started as an improv, replacement band for, lo-fi legends, Trumans Water when all members were unavailable. Formed of a rotating cast of friends of Trumans, too many to list (basically a who’s who of the Portland noise/pop underground) the one constant being Kevin Branstetter (guitarist/singer and founding member of TW). Kevin has continued to use the WDS moniker for his solo project. Using guitars, loops, voice and toe controlled noise makers, the outright chaos has been replaced by a more concentrated, concise chaos.
