OPEN SERIES presents:
Alec K. Redfearn & the eyesores doom-laden sound includes both male and female vocals, an accordion, a double bass and a French horn. Redfearn’s macabre lyrics explore death, loss and destruction, while the music includes elements of American folk, progressive rock and cabaret. Last September they released Sister Death on Cuneiform Records. The album took Alec 6 years to write, and features elements of kraut -rock, space rock and psychedelica.
Wooden wand is the stage name of singer-songwriter James Jackson Toth. Toth has been difficult to pigeonhole in one genre; recent releases have been identified as acid folk, free jazz, outlaw country, and country-tinged rock. He has been compared to artists like Neil Young and recently supported Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo on tour in the USA. Wooden Wand has released close to 30 albums for labels like Ecstatic Peace, Young God, Blackest Rainbow, Kill Rock Stars and most recently Fire.
Beginners is the new band of Susanne Linssen, violin player and vocalist with Dutch bands Hospital Bombers and Awkward I. Expect folky anthems with screaming violin riffs and songs about fucking love.
