Charnel Ground presents: CRACK CRYPT CRUCIFIXION (Adam Campbell, Nick Klein & Diego Behncke, UK/US/DE) + MAKOTO OSHIRO (JP) + ASCH + SUNKYU LEE (FILM)

Charnel Ground kicks off the year with an evening combining film, noise and heavy
electronics.

CRACK CRYPT CRUCIFIXION (UK/US/DE)

Crack Crypt Crucifixion (C.C.C.) is the joint project of Adam Campbell (Fancyyyyyy), Nick Klein (Psychic Liberation), and Diego Behncke (Prensa Manual), manifesting as damp, recursively claggy, pathologically engineered environments of half-witted, pulp-feedback accidents.

MAKOTO OSHIRO (JP)

Makoto Oshiro is a Berlin-Tokyo based performer and artist. His primary medium is sound, but he also combines other elements including light, electricity and movement of objects. In live performances, he uses self-made tools and instruments that are based on electronic devices, every day materials, and junk. His installation work handles sound as a physical and auditory phenomenon, and focuses on characteristics such as vibration and interference. He is also a member of the live installation / performance group The Great △(夏の大△) with Takahiro Kawaguchi and Satoshi Yashiro, and runs the label Basic Function.

ASCH

Familiar faces treading unfamiliar territory. ASCH is a collaborative project by Kevin Jansen (Svartvit) and Jim Breedveld (Geseling) utilizing various methods such as tape manipulation, digital processing, electromagnetic interference and field-recordings.

Film screening by Sunkyu Lee.

Sunkyu Lee is an artist working with visual and sonic media. She co-runs the web radio station oolongradio (oolongradio.com) with Hyungjoong Kim, exploring radio as a site where technology and community intersect. Her practice includes video, modular installation, and sound, with a recent focus on listening to and transmitting sound through a DIY binaural live-streaming device.

The screening, totalling around 20 minutes, is planned as a program of short videos of around 5 minutes each, including two or three previous works (some screened at LUFF) and possibly one new short video currently in development. Each video is built around a simple action or gesture, repeated across different objects.

Presale/door prices adjusted: our events are set up by volunteers in favour of supporting DIY touring acts, but it is getting ever more risky to plan and book events – please support the community and buy your tickets early! Presale closes 18.00 on day of the show.

Bookings are closed for this event. Remainder of the tickets will be sold at the door
