FILM: GENERATION HATE (I & II, Lee Sorrell, 2018)

Op zondag 19 mei organiseert AFA Amsterdam een vertoning van de documentaire Generation Hate.
Deze 2 delige documentaire gaat over de opkomst van de extreem rechtse groep Generation Identitaire in Frankrijk.
Door middel van uitgebreide research en onderzoekers die undercover zijn gegaan in de organisatie, schept de film een goed beeld van de dreiging die voortkomt uit deze groep.

De producer van de film zal aanwezig zijn bij de screening om te vertellen over de totstandkoming van de film.
Hij zal komen vertellen over de productie van de film en vragen uit het publiek kunnen beantwoorden.

De planning van de dag is als volgt:

16.00 uur: deur open
16.30 uur: start Generation Hate deel 1
17.30 uur: presentatie producer van de film

Voor mensen die deel 1 al gezien hebben is het mogelijk later binnen te komen. Zorg er dan wel voor dat je de tijden in de gaten houdt zodat er niet te veel verstoring is tijdens de filmvertoning.

Marine Le Pen recently changed the name of the National Front as part of efforts to reform the party’s image and make it more acceptable to French voters. However, an al Jazeera reporter uncovers close connections between senior politicians in Le Pen’s party and Generation Identity (GI), a far-right youth movement dedicated to expelling Muslims from Europe. GI militants are secretly filmed carrying out racist beatings and performing Nazi salutes. Aurelien Verhassel, the leader of GI branch in the French city of Lille, has convictions for violence but still recruits far-right activists to work in political posts for Le Pen’s party. Elected members of Le Pen’s party in the European Parliament are also caught declaring their support for Generation Identity and its anti-Muslim policies.
