‘MATTii PASSii’ – EASTER MATiNEE by 7090  +

Aaron Lumley + Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti +

X STATiC TiCS + Noam Donia Nota

Aaron Lumley celebrates 20 years of playing the contrabass with a new reinterpretation of his 2012 solo LP, Wilderness.

“Wilderness resonates with incredible candor while Lumley reaches lonesome heights of the highest mystic calibre” – Aaron Levin, Weird Canada

Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti is an Amsterdam-based multi-medium artist who works as a vocalist, composer, performer and maker. Born in Bolivia and raised in Brazil, she weaves her sonic and performative practices inspired by her Latin roots, with the aim of creating celebratory, energetic and shape-shifting sonic performances. At Mattii Passii she will be experimenting some noise making, using loudness for conjuring soft protests.

X Static Tics are: Henk Bakker – bass clarinet, beats, voice, electronics and Lukas Simonis – prepared guitar, voices, electronics. Through the years, The Static Tics remained at the core of the WORM Radio department, making radio plays, documentaries and radio magazines. Static Tics is inspired by the similarity between people with the Syndrome of Giles De La Tourette and people that do experimental or improvised music. Their music wavers between contemporary, kind of abstract sound, People-Like-Us type plunderphonics, anti-generic, powerful guitar parts and al-over weirdness. For some reason it could only have come from the WORM studio sweatshop . . . sorry, but it’s true.

Noam Donia Nota | BABY CORE
I branded my art as {baby core} , since I try to center it around this baby symbol. It started years ago as a sort of self portrait because I myself have been bald and small headed since a young age. This turned in much more, a sort confrontational discomfort. In lots of my art my babies are portrayed dying. Some find it cruel, I find it reality. There is a certain contrast I try to play with, pretty forms with cruelty & sadness. My art is about stuff i don’t talk about, i like it when the viewer makes up his own story so i can keep my story for myself.

7090 Koen Kaptijn | Nora Mulder
B[L]OOM (2025) is a sound art installation and an instrument, made from what once was a piano and a trombone. It emits a soft, but insisting song of longing and melancholy where echoes and visions merge. It is a tribute to Reindert de Leeuw and a bow to everything that is convincingly flexible. Or like G.K. Chesterton wrote long ago:
“In everything that yields gracefully, there must be resistance.
Bows are beautiful when they bend only because they seek to remain rigid.
Rigidity that slightly yields, like Justice swayed by Pity,
is all the beauty of the world. Everything seeks to grow straight, and happily,
nothing succeeds in so growing.
Try to grow straight and life will bend you.”
