BALKH
balkh performs a type of aural séance that exist on the blurry border between sound art and music. All sessions are improvised and unique. We refer to our style as “Dissociative-trance”. balkh has been most noted to evoke Muslimgauze.

balkh comprises of Doriandra Smith: formerly of EXP, the Los Angeles based experimental band that featured Ace Farren Ford (Smegma / Los Angeles Free Music Society) and Rozz Williams (Christian Death); and myself: former vocalist of the germans (San Francisco) and co-founder of the defunct Enterruption record label – both with wm.Rage (Blue Sabbath Black Cheer).

Our minimal set-up consist of only two samplers and two iPads that we run into a house mixer/sound system Set length is about an hour.
