PARASITE JAZZ (FR) + WALLY (US) + BHAJAN BHOY (NL/UK)

A triple header of musical surprises that flies in the face of convention, by bringing together three stylistically different musical acts, but united by their originality and brilliance! So this is what we have on the OCCII musical menu:

PARASITE JAZZ (Fr.)
The UK gets a lot of attention for mutating the jazz continuum in interesting new directions but we at OCCII currently transfixed by France’s gilet jaune wearing Parasite Jazz whose self titled debut LP is a hard hitting, freewheeling, deviantly dubbed, post punk, krautrock, jazz not jazz fusion that simmers with discontent & righteous anger. The revolution will most definitely be televised and this gets our vote for the soundtrack.

WALLY (USA)
There I was tuned into WFMU on 10 January whilst making dinner, and the most gorgeous songs filled with rich harmonies came dancing out of my speakers. The band in question were American band WALLY, who performed 9 spellbinding numbers on the show. To my amazement, during the interview with the band, they informed one and all that they had moved to The Netherlands. This will be their debut Amsterdam show and one you cannot afford to miss! The blurb says its all :Wally works both infectious hooks, and charming melodies into their songwriting that is both reminiscent of the 60’s neo-psychedelia movement, and emerging jangle-pop aptitudes. The group promptly delivers on their shared interest in artists like The Beach Boys, Big Star, and Neil Young through acoustic guitars, layered harmonies, horns, and vibrant synth patches which bring forth a refreshing, and unadorned contribution to the music that came before them”.

BHAJAN BHOY (NL/UK)
Ajay Saggar has been making music under the moniker BHAJAN BHOY since 2020, releasing eight albums and touring around the globe. As a member of both Water Damage and CHELA, he appeared on 3 consecutive nights at Le Guess Who? festival in November 2024, and in November 2025, he performed as BHAJAN BHOY…performing his “Summer In St. Mary’s” album for 500 transfixed listeners in the Speelklok Museum. Bhajan Bhoy’s music ploughs a peak time psychedelic furrow; from lazy interstellar ragas to lysergic electronic music, mellow psychedelic experimentation and all sorts of kosmische mutations. He will release a new album titled “Meditations” on 17 April 2026 (Feeding Tube Records (USA) / Cardinal Fuzz (UK).
