A key element of his work is the relationship between spiritual practices and unusual methods of audio processing, mainly focusing on the use of microphones as a medium for the amplification of an act. He explores the boundaries between sound and noise using breathing techniques, bodily sounds and different kinds of amplified objects as instruments to structures his performances. During past years Abattoir recorded and released collaborative works with: Hermann Kopp, Francisco Merino, Giovanni Lami, Satori and played live performances in EU and USA. He also works in the contemporary art field creating sound installations and composing soundtracks for theatre.

Jiyoung Wi is a multi-faceted artist from Seoul, Korea currently residing in The Hague, Netherlands. Jiyoung’s work can be situated within fictional literature, improvised music, field recording, with an interest in juxtaposing or disjointing these fields of practice through her sonic and literary methodologies.
