As Cold in Church braces itself for recording its Sophomore album this summer: Convent, our large robes suggest internal LIVENESS/organisms. The Convent will contain our new sound, which is both darker, heavier, and more heavenly. Cécile‘s lungs teem with the miasma of inter-generational DIVANY. Danielle embraces dark spoken word, and female rap with a heavy emphasis on PHANTASY genre. Jacob Dwyer emerges from the kit with his spoken body within a body.

Cold in Church is first and foremost a dreampop band, but through our rehearsals and commitment to collaboration, we’re weaving space for transness, existential ardour, betrayal fantasies, you name it, in which our vessel hosts multiple other vessels:

Ebony Hoorn (NL) will perform a transcendent drone and improvisation set, weaving ethereal vocals into a hypnotic soundscape—creating a vortex and a container for meditation.

Ache Tray (they/them) is a DJ from the Sino-diaspora, currently based in Eindhoven (NL) and Paris (FR). Growing up in Paris as a third culture kid, they have been soaked in ga(y)ming culture and different pop-sub-
cultures, leaking this nostalgia through their mixes. At times of efferversence, they serve some eclectic infusion of bailefunk, dance-hall, hardcore beats to light up the dance-floor. While ambient is the other side of their
blade, those latent moments unleash harsh emotions held within us.
