KONSTRUKT (TUR) (Free jazz / Avant-Garde) feat. Michael Zerang (US)
Konstrukt is a group of Turkish musicians based in Istanbul, whose music is a pungent mix of free jazz, scraps of the blues, and traditional music, criss-crossing seamlessly between these genres never sounding self-conscious or derivative.
There are many elements that make up Konstrukt’s very individual style.
Michael Zerang
A self-described “Chicago-born Assyrian percussionist”, Michael Zerang’s list of collaborators is a virtual compendium of the Windy City’s free jazz/improv community, including saxophonists Fred Anderson and Ken Vandermark, cellist Fred Longberg-Holm, drummer Hamid Drake, and bassist Kent Kessler, among others.

There’s the sound of Miles Davis’ electric period: echo effects and music that seems to float, with no clear beginning, middle or end. The influence of Sun Ra, in Çağlar’s b-movie electric organ and micro-moog, which have a distinctive timbre reminiscent of the slightly cheesy keyboards favoured by Sun Ra.

LEA BERTUCCI
an American sound artist, composer and performer.
Her work often incorporates multichannel speaker arrays, electroacoustic feedback, extended instrumental/vocal technique, and tape collage.
As an instrumentalist, she uses an idiosyncratic approach to amplifying woodwind instruments, creating organic yet electrified sonic interventions.
TONY BEVAN & ROGIER SMAL DUO (UK,NL)
Saxophones and Drums, that’s it really.
